Happy Holidays!!!! This is the time of year that is festive and fun. This is also a time of sorrow for some.
This is my niece Alyssa with the Hawaiian Christmas tree.
Someone gave Alyssa a turtle….looks like she’s gonns make some soup. haha. Thats the turtles little pool of water because she still don’t want to pick him up.
Its been two years now and it still seems like yesterday. He went into the hospital 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and I will never forget that Thanksgiving day. My family had already left to eat some dinner and Denise and myself stayed at the hospital just a little longer with him. The nurse came in to check up on him and do some tests. Since he had all these tubes in his mouth, he couldn’t talk so he would spell out stuff with his fingers. I remember the nurse joked around with him a bit then asked him if he was ok or needed anything. With his hands he motioned to us…”a new body”. that was the saddest thing I ever saw him do and brought both Denise and myself to tears…hell, even as I type this.
Each night when I took my dog outside to pee I would ALWAYS look up in the night sky and wait for my falling star to make a wish. Each night I saw my star and my wish was always the same.On December 22nd on our nightly visit we chilled and talked with him. He was in a joking mood and told Denise and I that he had a 10 lb brown baby earlier…he basically was saying he took a huge crap, haha. Little did we know that that was his last words that we spoke. Laughing and joking, the way I would want it.
I haven’t seen a falling star since, not that I have looked that good for one either. However, two nights ago I had a crazy dream. In that dream my dad visited me and I told him that everything is ok and he did good in raising us. I woke up right after that and felt pretty good about everything. My pops will always be missed but never forgotten. Hope I didn’t put a damper on anything, but go and hug your loved one now. I gotta go outside and look for my star again………………………
